High Voltage Hazard Warning: Standard smart thermostats operate on 24V AC low voltage. If your existing thermostat is connected to 120V or 240V line voltage (such as electric baseboard heaters, convection heaters, or setups with thick copper wires joined by twist-on wire nuts), do not connect a standard smart thermostat. Connecting a 24V thermostat to line voltage creates an immediate danger of explosion, electrical fire, severe injury, or death.
